Ice age 4 Storyline

Scrat's nutty pursuit of the cursed acorn, which he's been after since the dawn of time, has world-changing consequences - a continental cataclysm that triggers the greatest adventure of all for Manny, Diego and Sid. In the wake of these upheavals, Sid reunites with his cantankerous Granny, and the herd encounters a ragtag menagerie of seafaring pirates determined to stop them from returning home.

Ice age 4 Review 

The kids may well still love it. Kids are like that. Plonk them down in front of something colourful, noisy, and fast moving, with a pail of popcorn and packet of pineapple lumps, and your average 6-year-old is going to be happy as a clam for at least the duration, and probably for a fair chunk of the car ride home. Or at least until the pineapple lumps start hunting for the fire escape. But, you know what, just because kids like kids' movies, doesn't mean that some kids' movies aren't the most appalling load of old rubbish. And given that a trip to the multiplex for you and three nippers will have set you back by the thick end of $100, by the time you've found a park, paid for the tickets, and been mugged at the candy bar, then I think it's fair enough that you, the parents and caregivers, should at least see a film that you might enjoy yourself. Ice Age 4: Continental Drift, is not that film. In fact, Ice Age 4 is barely a film at all. It's an ill-conceived, barely coherent, and fairly objectionable attempt to cash in one last time on a franchise that never really should have progressed beyond its first or (just barely) second instalment. You know the story by now. There's the mammoth, still voiced quite engagingly by Ray Romano, the sabre-toothed tiger, and the sloth. Over the course of the past three films, the mammoth has met his true love, and is now the father of a teenage daughter, who wants to "go to the falls" and hang out with boys. Cue a lot of wordy, tired, and dull arguments, as dad tries to keep the daughter at home. And then, continental drift happens. Yep, just like that, and in about 10 minutes flat, the earth splits apart, and the family are separated from each other.

Ice age Review :

Set against the onslaught of the Ice Age - and a world filled with wonder and danger - the story revolves around three characters: Manny, an acerbic woolly mammoth; an irreverent, unsocialised giant sloth called Sid; and Diego, a scheming sabre-toothed tiger.

Sid awakes one morning to find that everyone has migrated to avoid the impending ice flow and left him behind. Keen to catch up with them, he befriends Manny, a mammoth with problems of his own. Together the pair find an abandoned baby and decide to return him to his tribe.

But life in the Ice Age was never simple and before long they attract the attention of a pack of mean sabre-toothed tigers who all fancy the idea of a mammoth sized meal. Can our heroes defeat the baddies and complete their quest?

While Ice Age's animation is not as jaw dropping as Monters Inc or Shrek, it is still very impressive: this winter wonderland is much more than just white snow. Parents and children alike will enjoy the steady stream of one-liners especially from the much put-upon Sid the Sloth.

All this aside, it is the antics of a sabre-toothed squirrel called Scrat that steal the show. This wiry oddball of a creature tirelessly flits about throughout the entire film, desperately scrambling to locate a safe place in which to stash his one and only acorn. It is a running gag that never fails to amuse as anyone who has seen the trailer will know.

As family films go this is as good as they come. It looks great, has a strong, easy to understand storyline for the youngsters and above all is great fun
